Walker Business Leaders Toastmasters: Who Will Shine on the District or International Stage?

The Walker Business Leaders Toastmasters Club is gearing up for an exciting moment in its history—our very first club-level speaking contest! With five talented members ready to compete, the stakes are high, as only two contestants will advance to the next level of competition.

What to Expect from Our Contestants

The majority of our members are participating in the prestigious International Speech Contest, where they’ll deliver impactful and inspiring five- to seven-minute speeches on subjects of their choice. This contest is a hallmark of Toastmasters International, offering members a chance to develop and showcase their public speaking prowess. Every district must conduct this competition, underscoring its importance and prestige.

The second contest, the Tall Tales Speech Contest, promises to bring a dose of creativity and humor to the stage. Contestants will present three- to five-minute speeches filled with exaggeration and imaginative storytelling, creating wildly improbable yet entertaining plots.

What’s Next?

After the club contest on February 12, 2025, two members will move forward to the Area Contest by March 17, 2025. From there, the competition heats up as they progress through the Division Contest on April 5, 2025, and then to the District 66 Contest at the annual conference in Hampton, VA, on April 25–26, 2025.

The ultimate goal? A chance to compete on the International stage in Philadelphia, PA, from August 20–23, 2025, representing not just our club, but District 66 and their unique voice.

The journey to the District and International stages is challenging but incredibly rewarding. Our members are passionate, skilled, and ready to rise to the occasion. Their dedication, combined with the support and encouragement of our club, makes it possible for any one of them to claim the spotlight at the highest levels.
